Me TV goes nationwide

MeTV, the channel famous in Chicago for years airing classic comedies, dramas, and other hit shows from the golden age of television has launched nationwide. The channel is now available on subchannels across the country in a large percent of local television markets. In some markets like Seattle and San Francisco they are on full-power television stations and are carried on Dish Network, Directv, and all the local cable providers. The station in Seattle is KVOS channel 12 and in San Francisco the station is KFTY channel 50. If you haven't seen MeTV in your area, keep your eyes out because MeTV plans to launch in every city across the country.

Tribune set to launch Antenna TV

The Tribune Company, the owner of several large newspapers including the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times, WGN America cable channel, as well as numerous television stations is about to launch a new digital television network. The new network is set to be called Antenna TV and will air across their entire lineup of stations including their stations in New York (WPIX) and Los Angeles (KTLA). The network is also pursuing tv stations outside the Tribune family to air the programming as well but no announcements have yet been made.

The network plans to air a mix of classic television shows like Married with Children, Three's Company, All in the Family, and more. They also plan to mix in movies as well into the schedule.

KNRC channel 14 is a brand new station planning to launch a total of 8 digital subchannels in Reno. Currently only 4 are broadcasting.

New Network Called This TV

This TV is a new television network from MGM that launched a few months ago. The network so far has expanded rapidly and is now in many large markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Sacramento and Portland.

The network airs older movies from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios as well as some classic television shows like Mr. Ed. While the channel isn't HBO or Shotime it is probably worth having around to check in every so often and perhaps find something interesting or something you have seen in years.

.2 Network Plans to Launch December 8

In an article in Broadcasting & Cable about a new executive coming on board to the Guardian Enterprise Group (.2 Network owner) they disclosed that the .2 Network will launch on December 8th, 2008. Many have been wondering what was happening with this network. The last news on their web site was from April, more than five months ago. The good news is that it sounds like the network will launch despite fears to the contrary.
